M201 - airforce lamp / phare AA

Thanks to Dick Howland (M201 No. 23834) for sending photos of the unusual additional sidelights fitted to his Armée de l'air M201. According to JLM these were fairly standard on airfield runway control jeeps to improve visibility at night.

Dick has confirmed that these were actually wired into the direction indicator circuit as side repeater lamps. Various sources in France have confirmed that the actual lamp units were commonly used on trailers and caravans in the 1960s and that they can still be obtained today as NOS or from scrap yards.
