Early type Blackout Headlamp

At first sight the Blackout Headlight above could easily be mistaken for an American WW2 type. Closer inspection reveals that it is a slightly different shape and has WOF stamped on the mounting bracket.

I cannot say for certain but it seems likely that all early 6 volt M201s would have left the factory fitted with this type of blackout lamp mounted on the wing. Very few examples of these can be found today as when jeeps were rebuilt to the later 24volt specification they were replaced with the later type found on all 24volt models from 1960 onwards.
